The Artist as Writer
Joanne enjoys writing
about historical characters and events. Her picture book manuscripts are primarily biographical. She also writes middle grade speculative and mystery. Her work has been published in a
variety of magazines including Splickety, ClubHouse Jr, and Cricket Magazine.
Recently, Joanne has been playing with nano and flash fiction and is finally tackling projects for both kids and adults in her favorite sub-genre, steampunk. You can hear her flash fiction "One Predictable Halloween" on the Alone In A Room With Invisible People podcast.
She spends her days reading, writing, and drawing, accompanied
by her husband, three kids, four cats, and way too many books.
